Bootleg Meditation Beads

So yesterday I developed a hyperfixation on prayer/meditation beads. I wanted my own but the store I went to didn’t really have an option I liked so I bought some beads and made my own. Next time I work on a project involving beads I’ll use a needle. I learned the hard way. The number of beads is 42 because that is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. JK in reality I bought two strings of beads and they just so happened to be 42 all together. I used a yin yang pendant because I like the symbolism of complimentary opposites. I also think it looks cool. The gemstones used are lapis lazuli and howlite.

I’ve always had a hard time meditating and I’m hoping the beads will help me focus better. I like the way they look and feel in my hands.

energy weather observations

today I got to really watch how

the dynamic changes

from just my energy

to the energy that becomes me

and my three wildcard children

they are always surprising me

when I'm alone I like to play calm music

something that soothes with nature

or may adds a nice flute or soft drumming

but I need more ambiance with my first two

because my oldest son is like the glowing moon

and I often call my daughter starshine

and while those two elements are often shown together

the stars are just faraway suns burning brightly

they only look smaller to us from where we are

they also fight like the yin yang of the spiritual

they jab at each other subtly so that the true game

is about who ends up lashing out first

you have to watch the whole dynamic

to see who the true instigator was

my daughter does it better but my oldest son

he can burst into his own flames

if you poke him long enough and she does

I finally got the two of them balanced

and everything was pretty quiet

and then my youngest son was delivered

he came in like chaos burns in the dawn

already yelling and grabbing toy guns

the two brothers started wrestling around

right in front of their sister until she squealed about it

and they're both laughing and carrying on

and it just takes a bit of time for them all

to get harmonized and blended again

but they know everything is okay

and they understand the changes now

so things are far more tranquil than they've been

for what seems like so long

breathing doesn't seem like a reasource

I need to keep quiet or careful

my body seems willing to take in

all the oxygen and space it needs

my oldest and I were talking about

crushes and he said something that made me

smile and rub my own face

yeah, if I like someone I just like

stop talking to them because suddenly

it's weird and I'll just ignore them

and I started laughing and he did too

and I told him I have a habit of doing the same

and my daughter told me some stories

about kids in her class and I'd stopped her

a moment and asked her to explain

what she meant by "bad" when she described

another kind because sometimes I've noticed

the "bad" kid in stories if often just the most honest

and she shook her head and said

no, he's bad because he lies all the time

and he's so mean to the quietest girl who is kind of

a pick me but she also steals boyfriends and we

don't understand why he's so mean to her

but I don't like her because she flirted with

my friend ambers boyfriend

and I nodded and just listened the the story

thought I did say that if he lies all the time

and is that badly behaved in school

his home life is likely hard but that doesn't mean

people should have to put up with bad behavior

I love how they perceive things and I try not to

interject too much because having your own mind

as a friend you trust is a peace not everyone can give you

and maybe that's how you know

when you're close to someone truly

is you can have your own mind as a friend

and so can they which means you'll fight

but only people who are close have conflict

in that ways that get so emotional

intimacy and connection is painful sometimes

but it also means you matter

and your thoughts are safe

and so is your heart

their beautiful chaos teaches me something

about myself every single time I'm around them

I blamed myself so much for letting the last relationship

hurt all of us and not getting out fast enough

but there was a lot of joy in between the trials

during the crush talk my oldest asked if I had a crush

and I told him that I did and we mused over that

and I admitted that I'd been scared because of

what happened last time and he said so quickly

that if it's what I wanted it was alright

he asked some questions about him

and I answered them and I knew he trusted me

in this energy because my son was playful and his own

adhd started showing in his actions and stims

he talked again about hating to look people in the eyes

and everything just feels right and makes sense again

now that everyone is balance and all the energy

between the three of these little creatures is calmer

it's time to wrangle these wild cats into a store

or maybe we could just order in dinner

who knows what is going to happen

but it will be quite the adventure

I feel like it's such a cop-out to say Amethyst but uh yeah her wivbwigj she's an amnesiac who's memories only started developing again three years prior to the series so she's not that concerned with dating oop

Hypothetically Ruby is the only one who hasn't dated anyone yet but honestly she's such a homie hopper (more in a "kiss the homies goodnight" though) that she probably has kissed one of the other Paladins before lmao

3.) what oc has the best music taste? the worst music taste?

Ruby! Her moms are both somewhere on the punk/grunge/emo/goth spectrum and canonically raised her on My Chem lmao.

Ruby tends to be the one to introduce the other Paladins to bands she think would fit them; Jay and her tend to share music tastes, Blaze would like Fall Out Boy, Rina would enjoy Panic at the Disco (well like the GOOD times), Ruby would be surprised that Turqbalt likes Linkin Park/Green Day, Amethyst would like Evanescence, aaand Ruby would be a little afraid to show her music to Rose oops. I also think she'd be a little shy to show her stuff to Tarum but Tarum surprises her for liking more Danger Days kinds of My Chem

I'd joke that Callaina is into hyperpop like me but I do think canonically Oriole has the worst music taste; he'd really like CORPSE songs, but really only the horny ones in a very unironic "Oriole is incredibly shallow and toxically masculine" kind of way

7.) which oc has the most cohesive color pallet? the craziest color pallet?

I think it's sort of the SUL style to have a veey cohesive color palette; they all tend to be monochromatic with an occasional achromatic color in their designs BECAUSE a good chunk of the series is about how everyone represents a color. The original Paladins are all directly monochromatic because they physically cannot produce any other colors of light

However, craziest one has got to be Sage; I love the vibes of their design, but it definitely feels a little too difficult to redraw over and over again. It doesn't help that their palette uses up a LOT of different shades of gray and green, so their palette is currently the craziest.

8.) which oc prefers flowing clothes? tight clothes?

Oh that's a whole motif in my stories lmao, the "compact" twin and "flowy" twin

Yin and Azureus prefer flowy clothes, because they're the calmer/introverted/gentler twin

Yang and Callaina prefer tighter clothes, because they're the hyperactive/extroverted/harsher twin

Tarum and Prima switch this around with Prima preferring tighter clothes but being the flowy twin, while Tarum prefers flowy clothes while being the compact twin (it probably makes more sense when you see their very atlasified designs from these comics)

Typically I use that motif to design twin siblings, but I use it for lots of other relationships too!

Aster vs Violetta, Aster is the compact one and Violetta is the flowy one

And of course, Ruby and Cobalt! I think the compact/flowy motif I use works pretty well with rivalry designs :D for rivals it tends to reflect their fighting styles.

For those two, Ruby prefers tighter clothes because it's,,, I guess more aerodynamic? You see Olympic runners only in shorts and tanks so Ruby's fighting gear underneath her jacket is only yoga pants and a t shirt, and even then her jacket is pretty short. She runs FAST, so she can't have anything super long for people to yoink/get caught on

Cobalt prefers flowy clothes because his fighting style allows him to stay more static, he's much more based on strategy (called a "fox fighter" in-universe) so he's not making super huge flashy movements to win a fight. Also, he's autistic and also Azureus in another form; he's really attached to long flowy clothing. He likes very soft fabric and lots of it because it's a good pressure stim for him. He hardly wears anything less comfortable than a hoodie and sweatpants, so his fighting gear is made of the same material to ensure his comfort.
